In Sandomil, the Alva River flows between ancient bridges, river beaches, and serene landscapes, creating one of the most authentic and peaceful refuges of the Serra da Estrela.
Sandomil, a village in the municipality of Seia, has regained its Blue Flag status and sees tourism and population retention as priorities. The parish president, André Martins, highlights tranquility and natural beauty as the main arguments to achieve these goals. Known as the “princess of the Alva”, the parish maintains small family farming thanks to the fertile floodplains and the use of the waters of the Alva River, which continue to sustain the local economy, preserving traditions and the people’s connection to the land.
